Student Government Challenge Alright, this is how it’s going to go down. In two months we’ll decide who the winner is. That’ll allow Winter Carnival to count towards this, so it should help everybody out a bit. You’re going to be judged based on the following criteria. I tried to make this as nonbiased as possible, but if you have anything to add to it just tell me. This is open to every class officer, SAC, student council, NHS, SADD, whatever you want. Whoever is the best at this wins. Maybe there’ll be a prize. Seeing as the theme of student government is sex, drugs, rock & roll, I’m not sure if we can do that. I’ll figure out the details later. You Get Points for this stuff: 1. Schoolwide Service: This means things like organizing events that the entire school participates in. If only one class is involved, it doesn’t count. If you make money off of the endeavor, you can keep it. 2. Classwide/ Organization Wide Service: This means you are helping your class/ organization to get an advantage over other classes/organizations. Obviously you keep the money if you make it. 3. Policy Making: This means you are working with the faculty/administration to improve our school through politics and whatnot. 4. Community Service: This means you are helping people outside of the school. You shouldn’t make any money off of this. You should probably lose money. Unless you’re corrupt. But if you are then you get points taken away from you at the end of this contest. 5. School Spirit: You are helping to improve school spirit. This can be with the entire school, or just with your class. You aren’t making any money off of this at all. You Get Bonus Points for: 1. Being stressed out all the time. 2. Being a head buster within your class/organization and getting them to work more than they would otherwise 3. Procrastination You Lose Points for: 1. Being corrupt 2. Not doing anything when you should probably be working 3. Complaining That is all. I am going to be the judge of all this. All my decisions are final. I will be unbiased. So let’s say that, after Winter Carnival, anybody who wants to take place in this contest submits their resume, and then I pick the winner. Seeing as I would be accused of being biased, I won’t even submit my work.

Well what if you are the best of your category. Perhaps you should have someone (NOT ME) completely outside the student government, NHS, etc system be the judge. In all honesty, FOX news is more fair and balanced than you are.

You have to have somebody inside the student government system judge who is best. Somebody outside of student government doesn't understand how it all works. That would be like having a figure skating contest being judged by somebody who's never even put on skates before. They could do it, but they would probably make the wrong decision. Bring out the nailed board.

before you even made this post shep said "because not submitting any work automatically make u impartial" SARCASM. you are still the most biased person from this debate. you can't pose a challenge to prove your point and be the judge of it. I pose that i rule. i won't submit any evidence but i will determine the final outcome. anyone else wouldn't know what ruling is. its student government not thermodynamics and you are telling them what you do, not what others don't do or how you are better. plus, since you do so much, you'd want your actions to count for your side (not like they wouldn't if you were judging). there are sports commentators and judges that have never done the actual thing before, you know whats sposed to be done and you know what has been done, whether its a trick or schoolwide organization. have joe lafortune be the judge. he doesn't have a friend based preference and doesn't participate in student government but prolly cares enough to do it.

Because this is a deeply serious competition. We're making the student government challenge trophy. It is like the Stanley Cup, but it's made out of a guitar and a mountain of cocaine. You are all taking this way too seriously. You get bonus points for procrastination. You people are such tools that you could build a space shuttle.
And as far as the commentators that have never taken part in the sport, they probably have watched the sport, and studied the sport. It's wicked easy to be an armchair politician. Look at Ted Kennedy. Because he just got nailed.
