For all of you that are new to the forum, here are a few answers to some of the questions you might have.
Q: Hi.
A: Hi.
Q: What is the Quaboag Homework Forum?
A: The Quaboag Homework Forum is a student-operated forum where all of the students of Quaboag can get information about upcoming events, sound off on club, class, and student government issues, and just generally hang out.
Q: So why is it called the "Homework" forum?
A: Well, theoretically, this site will also be a place to ask for and receive homework help and information. That whole part of the site is not finished yet, but we'll let you know once it is.
Q: How is the site connected to the school?
A: This forum has no connection to the school or to the district. This is entirely an independent effort, and as such any complaints/issues should be sent to the moderators.
Q: So, why exactly should I sign up?
A: Once you sign up, you can be part of the discussions, vote in polls, and make your voice heard.
Q: But I don't want to sign up for anything!
A: That's not a question.
Q: Fine. What if I don't want to sign up?
A: Better. That's perfectly okay, you can still read the information and see what everyone else is posting.
Moderator-related Questions[/u]
Q: Who runs this board?
A: The forum is completely student-run and moderated, and we police ourselves for any out-of-line content.
Q: Who decides if something is okay to post?
A: Read the rules and use common sense. If you have to ask, don't. The final decision is up to the mods.
Q: But what if I disagree?
A: Then you are wrong.
Q: What if I have a question?
A: Feel free to post most questions on the open forum. If you have any questions regarding your account status, send a private message to the admin or to any of the site moderators.
Q: What do I do if I feel that there is moderator abuse?
A: As this is a self-regulated forum, we take all complaints of abuse very seriously. Send any complaints of this nature directly to QED, who is the overall administrator for the entire forum.
Ranks and Karma
Q: How does the ranking system on the forum work?
A: On QHF, all regular members are automatically assigned a rank ("New Member", "Senior Member", etc.) based on post count.
Q: What the ****
A: Your question has been censored for foul language. Please rephrase and try again.
Q: Sorry, what the heck is QHF?
A: Short for Quaboag Homework Forum
Q: Well that's lame.
A: I would respond, but that was not in the form of a question.
Q: Whatever. Anyways, how do I get one of the nonstandard ranks?
A: Any school staff who join the forum automatically get a different title from everyone else. If you are a student, then you get a title for being a moderator or an officer in one of the clubs/classes/student council.
Q: What is "karma"?
A: Karma is the method used to score members of the forum. Mods will increase it or decrease it for exceptional/noobish posts, and it will also be awarded for contests that run in the forum. If someone is active enough and stands out from the crowd, chances are they will earn a lot of karma. Those with very high karma may be considered for limited or full moderator status.
Q: That was a long answer.
A: Hey, you asked.
Q: What if I have another question that is not covered in the FAQ?
A: Post it in the appropriate section of the forum, or, if you don't feel comfortable with that, PM one of the mods. If enough people ask, I may add it to the FAQ.
Q: Who are you, anyways?
A: If I told you then I'd have to kill you.
Q: So, not gonna tell me?
A: Nope.
