Click here for AP course listings and descriptions. Obviously, some are not feasible, but I included everything on the list that was not offered this year. What do you think Quaboag should offer next year? (Note: the courses with "/" in them above are where I combined two similar courses to make voting easier. In actuality, they are separate courses with separate tests.)

As you know, the student base to on which the school can draw to fill AP classes is limited. Only a small group of high schoolers will want to take any AP classes, so many classes would only interest a couple people. Staffing is also limited, so only a class that can attract a decent number of people (probably somewhere in the 8-12 range as a minimum) can be run if the other class sizes are to be kept in check. (by the way that number is a complete guess, but I think it might be even higher in most subjects). Current AP class sizes are around 14 I believe.
Keep in mind that 3 AP classes (4 blocks) are currently being offered, and that, depending on the intererest among this year's sophomores, there will probably be enough students for 3-5 blocks next year. If you have a suggestion, make sure you include how you would balance the number of students.

While I voted for comp. sci., I'm not sure if there would be enough interest. I would hope so, but a lot of the computer people are seniors this year and won't be around to take the class next year. If we had to drop an AP next year, I would probably suggest US History. English will either have one class of language and one of lit. or will be on a two-year rotation between the two, and calc. will be needed every year as the top math for seniors.
If they offered US Hist. again in 2 years, they could offer world or psychology next year. While I'd personally like to see computer sci. or the government and politics one offered, I'm not sure if enough other people want them. Anyone else have any ideas?

Well, I think that whatever subject you pick, there is a good chance that you'd have to hire another teacher to teach it. I'd like to see some AP foreign languages, but that's pretty much impossible, given the class sizes for non-AP languages right now. If it were up to me, I'd deep six the whole AP program altogether, but we need it to be competitive with other schools...
